Why are short videos so maligned, especially tiktok, yes it's shortening our attention span but so are many others(IG Reels) and how this all could be a western propaganda to all but simply prejudice an eastern product.

Short attention span, Instagram photos I would argue are even less attention span worthy, I don't see anyone talking about that.

Cigarettes are harmful physically and these are harmful mentally they say, I don't see cigarettes being maligned so much as TikTok is sure there is some cringe but the cringe exists equally among all platforms.

When a country wins the football World Cup, you see small kids trying to play football and trying to be the next Messi, you don't go to them and scold them that what if you don't get in, then why is it that we judge kids who are trying to make short videos, for all we know, they may end up getting more skills than we do.

Let's take a basic example of clicked selfie on a camera. What a bitch thing to do, yeah? I don't think so, why don't you try and do it and see if you could get even one pose right if this is your first time doing it. One excellent outcome is that you get more comfortable in your skin, with your looks with your face, which boosts your confidence. I know this is a hypothesis that I just passed on as a fact. But I bet if you try to deny it logically. You can't.

So coming to a full circle here, TikTok is like any other novelty with its own fair share of critics, but it's not one-of-a-kind shit like the Western media is projecting. 

Suppose you could keep a rational and unbiased mind while reading an article and take things for what they are without adding your own pinch of salt to it. In that case, you could taste the authentic flavor of it and it would most definitely be a new flavor that you discover that day, and that'll make all the difference.

I won't back my claims up with evidence as I'm sure you people are tech savvy enough to put in the right keywords for good, positive, and useful stuff to come up and that would thus change your views regarding the platform. Cheers :)
